No plumbing is required, no cartridges or filters, just fill with tap water and turn on the power! The distilling process Water is placed inside the unit and heated. As the temperature rises evaporation increases and the vapour produced is discharged through the ventillation system within the lid. When the water temperature reaches 100ºC, bacteria and viruses begin to be killed off and the boiling water produces steam. As the steam rises into the stainless steel cooling coil within the lid chemicals, salts and other contaminents are left behind. The steam is condensed back into water which flows down through the spout and into the collection bottle.
