Ultrasonic Instrument Cleaning Baths |
Hand scrubbing just isn't good enough! |
|
Hand scrubbing of soiled instruments is both time consuming and ineffective. It is difficult to cleanse inaccessible areas of instruments by mechanical or hand scrub procedures which can be hazardous and present a very real risk of injury and subsequent infection. High quality and valuable surgical instruments should be ultrasonically cleaned after use to prevent unnecessary wear and so provide the longest possible service. An autoclave is designed to sterilise instruments not to wash them. If instruments are not thoroughly cleaned first, the efficiency of your sterilization process may well be compromised. Even a small amount of debris from previous usage can insulate bacteria from the extreme heat of the autoclaves steam.
A range of accessories is available to be used in conjunction with the bath to hold or support items to be cleaned. Electropolished stainless steel baskets for larger instruments and beaker support trays which will suspend the beaker at the correct depth, as well as lids to reduce evaporation of the fluid are available optional extras.
