Why you need piped medical gases:

1 ) Typical gas savings of at least £1,000 per annum for an average usage practice.

  • Gas in larger cylinders is far cheaper.

  • Fewer cylinders = a reduction in cylinder rental costs.

  • Fewer cylinders = a reduction in delivery charges.

2) Health & Safety

  •  Reduced fire risk as cylinders can be stored outside, away from the working environment.

  • Reduction in the amount of manual handling of heavy cylinders.

3) Space saving

  • One 'J' size oxygen cylinder holds the equivalent of ten 'E' size cylinders.

  • Wall mounted anaesthetic machines can be used, saving even more floor space.

  • Typically 3x J size oxygen and 2x G size nitrous oxide cylinders are required. These can be stored outside in a secure cylinder store saving even more valuable internal floor space.

An E size oxygen cylinder contains
680 litres of oxygen. A J size cylinder contains 6800 litres of oxygen; 10 times the capacity, yet costs less than twice as much to rent and just over twice as much refill. Combine these cost reductions with just one cylinder delivery per month instead of four and the savings soon add up!

Wall mounted anaesthetic machine and gas outlets

We've been installing piped medical gas systems in veterinary practices across the whole of the UK for the last 15 years.

Our knowledge of how veterinary practices operate means that we know what works well and what to avoid. A veterinary theatre is a completely different environment to a human hospital theatre and systems that are offered by our competitors tend to be heavily biased towards NHS systems which are either overspecified or inpractical in a veterinary scenario.

At Burtons we offer a complete solution; design, installation and after sales maintenance. Not only that, but because we have an in depth knowledge of anaesthetic machines in use in veterinary practices we can also provide a conversion service to enable your existing machines to be used with the piped gas system. Giving you the peace of mind that when we leave site your piped gas supply is functioning and your machines are fully up and running.

If you are considering a piped gas system for your existing practice or new build clinic, why not arrange for a free site visit by one of our Customer Support Representatives to discuss in depth your specific needs. We will then be able to provide you with a comprehensive and accurate quotation.

Outlet options available to suit your specific needs:

  • Wall mounted outlets - ideal where the head of your theatre table is located close to a wall.

  • Flexible ceiling pendants - used when the table/tables are located in the centre of a room.

  • Rigid pendants - Offer additional services such as power sockets and data connection points. Also available in rectractable versions.

    Surface mounted wall outlets.

Cylinder stores located outside, saves valuable floor space and reduces fire risk.

A flexible ceiling pendant can hold a combination of up to 6 gas and sacvenging outlets.

rigid pendants can be installed with piped gases as well as power points and data connections
